Slipknot - Welcome to the Neighbourhood
The title on the front cover is a large font and also the actual font used is the same used on CD’s and posters, this theme is continues on the back and side of the DVD cover. The text ‘welcome to our neighbourhood’ is all in capitals and the font looks like something you would see in a horror film, this fits in with the rock genre. The main text on the whole cover is white, creating a colour scheme.
There is three images on the whole cover, on the front cover the image is of the video album, it takes up at least half although it is a big image it is the title that catches your eye as the white contrasts with the dull background whereas the image blends in, this suggests the image isn’t as important, however on the back it is the image that stands out the most as the red contrasts with the background. There is a small image of the DVD in the bottom left corner, this is the same image that is on the front cover.
There is a bar code on the back, this is a key convention of any product also the parental advisory logo on the front cover is a convention of this DVD cover.
The colour scheme of this DVD cover is white black and red these are quite dull and boring colours however they do fit in with the stereotype of people who like rock as they wear a lot of black.
The band are all wearing white masks, this is portraying a very rock image of themselves as you wouldn’t see that on an R’n’B cover!
